Charli Kate Townsend is a Lecturer of Management at the Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics. Before joining the Judd Leighton School faculty, she spent more than 15 years in industry as a business development and sales specialist. While in industry, she developed a passion for training and employee engagement, which inspired her to return to school. While earning her M.B.A., she discovered a passion for research and transitioned from industry to academia.
After moving with her family from Metro Atlanta to the South Bend-Mishawaka region in 2025, Charli Kate developed an appreciation for the community and the region. She is passionate about giving back to the community. Outside of her work at IU South Bend, she enjoys cycling, attending local arts and crafts festivals, playing several musical instruments, and exploring the arts and cultural scene in South Bend.
