Dr. Curtis B. Matthews is a lecturer of marketing at the Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics. His previous appointments have been as either an assistant or associate professor at Kansas State University, High Point University, and most recently, Ball State University. Matthews has worked with first year and upper-level students in advertising, public relations, marketing, and IMC. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Matthews worked in marketing, advertising, and public relations in the Dallas/Fort Worth market for over 15 years as an account planner, strategist, insight generator, and occasional copywriter.
His research interests include:
- Impact of repetition and frequency of order effects in IMC
- Storytelling as a means of liking a message (Attitude [AD]) versus more permanent change (Attitude [BR])
- Persuasion via multi-channels
- Surveys of industry professionals assessing skills and traits for entry-level IMC employees
