Dr. Shaoyu Liu is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics, Indiana University South Bend, where he has served since August 2025.He earned his Ph.D. in Accounting Information Systems from Rutgers Business School in May 2025 and is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Dr. Liu’s research lies at the intersection of accounting and emerging technologies. His work explores strategic corporate disclosures through the lens of advanced analytical methods and artificial intelligence, with the goal of enhancing transparency and decision-making in financial reporting. His research has been presented at leading academic conferences.
Dr. Liu has taught a variety of courses across undergraduate and graduate levels, including Introduction to Managerial Accounting, Audit Analytics, Robotic Process Automation, and Advanced Auditing. He is passionate about preparing students for the evolving landscape of the accounting profession by integrating technology and data-driven tools into the classroom.
