Be Professional

• Arrive 10 minutes early and maintain your schedule
• Dress appropriately
• Avoid workplace gossip
• Stay on task and request new assignments, if needed

Set Goals and Priorities with Your Supervisor

• Plan an initial meeting with supervisor to review your goals and the organization’s goals for the internship
• Ask for assistance or clarification

Request a weekly meeting to review goals, ask questions, and get feedback

• Ask to conduct informational interviews with other employees
• Remember to ask questions about the company, the role your project(s) play in the big picture, the goals for the project, etc.

Exit meeting

• Solicit feedback and thank organization for the internship opportunity
• Request a letter of recommendation
• Ask permission to copy or use projects in your portfolio
