Students are encouraged to schedule advising appointments well before advance registration to avoid last minute rush as well as get the best selection of days and times for their classes.
Advising is mandatory each semester for all freshmen and sophomores.
Juniors and seniors are encouraged to meet with an academic advisor at least once a year.
Seniors should meet with their academic advisor to conduct a final degree audit and complete their graduation application.
During peak registration times, walk-in advising hours are available for students (no appointment is necessary).
Leighton School students can make appointments to meet with their academic advisor throughout the year to answer questions, discuss issues, resource referrals, and course scheduling.

Advance registration for Fall Semester occurs in March each year.
Advance registration for Spring Semester and Summer Sessions occurs in October each year.
It is highly recommended that all students in good academic standing take advantage of enrolling during the advance registration periods in order to have access to the best selection of courses.
An advising hold is placed on new and continuing pre-business students in the Leighton School of Business and Economics.
The advising hold can only be removed by the academic advisor after the student has met to discuss the classes he/she would like to take for the following semester.

Seniors are encouraged to meet with their academic advisor to conduct a final degree audit at least a year before their graduation date. Students must complete a Graduation Application in their senior year to notify the Leighton School of their expected graduation date by visiting the Leighton School Student Services Office to complete the application by the following deadlines:

Non-Business Students Interested in Minors in Business and Economics
Students who are pursuing a four-year degree in non-business programs may combine formal study in various business minors to enhance their degree.
