Undergraduate Scholarship Information

Students can apply for the following scholarships and other scholarships by accessing the 'Scholarships' item at One.IU. Just search for 'scholarships'. Remember to complete your online application no later than March 1.

All American Specialty Vehicles Scholarship: Employees or family members of employees at All American Specialty Vehicles – Undergraduate Business & Economics Majors with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA. Preference is given to majors who have a 3.0 GPA.

Beta Gamma Sigma Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to a student of Beta Gamma Sigma, the international scholastic honor society for business students. The recipient of this scholarship must enroll in the following fall semester to receive the scholarship in the form of a tuition award.

Paul J. and Deborah A. Cafiero Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate business student with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference is given to students who have demonstrated participation in community service.

Carol Naffziger CPA Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate junior in the Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The scholarship is renewable provided the recipient maintains a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Chase Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate business major with family income below 80% of median income.

Cletus and Mildred Chizek CPA Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students at IU South Bend who are studying for their CPA who are either graduate or undergraduate students in accounting, have completed 120 credit hours, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and are from the Indiana counties included in the IU South Bend service area. Students must demonstrate substantial progress toward completing 24 credit hours in accounting courses and 24 credit hours in business and economics courses. Preference will be given to students working toward 150 credits either through a double major and a minor, with one of the majors being Accounting or a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA).

Donald Cline Scholarship: This scholarship honors Emeritus Professor Donald Cline. Each recipient shall be an outstanding undergraduate student with at least a 3.0 GPA. Applicants must be enrolled in the School of Business and Economics and major in Accounting. The recipient of this scholarship must enroll in the following fall semester to receive the scholarship in the form of a tuition award.

Crowe LLP Outstanding Sophomore Accounting Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to a sophomore entering junior year in fall with a major in accounting and a minimum GPA of 3.2 in the major and overall. The student must exhibit excellent leadership skills, be a domestic student (as defined by the University), a graduate of a U.S. high school, and be on track to complete 150 credit hours.

Gerald E. Harriman Scholarship in Business and Economics: This scholarship honors our former vice chancellor and school faculty member. To qualify, students must have junior standing at the time of application, major in business or economics, have a GPA of at least 3.0, and enroll the following fall semester to receive a tuition award.

Monle Lee Advertising Scholarship: This scholarship in the amount of $500 will be awarded to an undergraduate student majoring in advertising with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on 4.0 scale in marketing and advertising classes. As determined by the selection committee, the recipient should demonstrate many of the following criteria: exemplary leadership in competition classes, significant participation in extracurricular activities related to marketing and advertising campaigns, participation in advertising and marketing related organizations, and/or an understanding of marketing and advertising concepts.

Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to outstanding undergraduate business majors with academically distinguished high-school records (3.5/4.0) who have leadership potential. Recipient(s) must be part of IU South Bend’s Honors Program. This scholarship is renewable for up to three additional years provided the recipient(s) maintains a 3.0 GPA and is enrolled in a minimum of 15 credit hours each semester.

Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics Fellowship: This scholarship is awarded to outstanding graduate business students who have earned an undergraduate degree with a minimum GPA of 3.4/4.0, and who enroll in at least six credit hours each semester. The fellowship is renewable for up to two additional years provided the recipient(s) maintains a 3.0 GPA and is enrolled in six credit hours each semester.

Craig and Carol Kapson Bicentennial Scholarship: Two scholarships will be awarded to undergraduate and/or graduate students studying business in the Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics who have a minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. The scholarship is renewable provided the recipient maintains the criteria outlined above.

James D. and Shirley A. Kowalski Entrepreneurship Scholarships: These are tuition remission scholarships for successful completion of any or all of the following courses: W311 New Venture Creation; W406 Venture Growth Management; W408 Small Business Practicum.

Rose Mahank Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship honors the memory of Rose Mahank. It is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate business student, enrolled part-time, with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.

Frank K. and Marsha Martin Scholarship Program: This four-year scholarship is given to outstanding undergraduate business majors with leadership potential and a GPA of 3.5/4.0. These students must also rank in the top 10% of their high school graduating class and have a combined math and reading score of 1200 on the SAT or above 26 on the ACT. Preference is given to economically disadvantaged students.

Jamshid Mehran Honorary Scholarship in Finance: This scholarship is given to an outstanding undergraduate finance major beginning their senior year with a minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0.

Sharon Rose Miller Scholarship: This scholarship honors the memory of Sharon Rose Miller, an IU South Bend alumna. The scholarship is awarded to a female undergraduate student enrolled in the School of Business & Economics who has a minimum 3.5 GPA and demonstrates financial need.

Manohar D. Nasta Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship honors the memory of Professor Manohar D. Nasta. Students of junior standing with a GPA of at least 3.0 and with a concentration in General Business/Management and Administration are eligible to apply. The recipient of this scholarship must enroll in the following fall semester to receive the scholarship in the form of a tuition award.

James Pattillo Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship honors the memory of Professor James Pattillo, who taught auditing, financial accounting and accounting systems at Indiana University South Bend. The scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student in the Master of Accounting or undergraduate accounting program. The recipient of this scholarship must enroll in the following fall semester to receive the scholarship in the form of a tuition award.

RSM McGladrey Accounting Scholarship: This scholarship is given to an outstanding undergraduate accounting major. The recipient of this scholarship must enroll in the following fall semester to receive the scholarship in the form of a tuition award.

Robert N. Robinson Scholarship: This scholarship honors the memory of Professor Robert N. Robinson, who taught accounting and taxation at Indiana University South Bend. Two scholarships are awarded annually to outstanding students in the accounting program. Candidates must have an overall GPA of at least 3.0, at least junior standing at the time of application, completed at least 15 hours of accounting classes at Indiana University South Bend (including Introductory Accounting), and be enrolled in the fall semester to receive the tuition award.

Dr. Asghar Sabbaghi Business and Economics Scholarship: This undergraduate scholarship will be awarded to students enrolled in a Business/Economics program at the Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics with a concentration in Management Information Systems (MIS). Recipients must have a minimum of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, demonstrated financial need, and demonstrate the three attributes for success: Character, Competency, and Commitment as determined by the Leighton School of Business and Economics Scholarship Committee. This scholarship is renewable for students who maintain their eligibility.

Vivian and Arnold Sallie Underrepresented Student Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to outstanding undergraduate business student(s) with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0, with demonstrated financial need. Recipient(s) must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours, be enrolled at least half time each semester, and working toward a degree in the Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics. Recipient(s) must be a high school graduate. Preference will be given to underrepresented students, including but not limited to financially challenged students, and/or students with diverse cultural experience.

John R. Swanda, Jr. Ethics Award: This scholarship honors Emeritus Professor John R. Swanda, Jr. who taught courses in management and later served as the dean of the School of Business and Economics until his retirement in 2000. It is given to a student enrolled in the School of Business and Economics who best exemplifies the highest standards of business ethics and professional behavior.

Isaac P. Torres Family School of Business and Economics Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding sophomore, junior or senior business student who is enrolled at least 6 credit hours in the School of Business and Economics, with an interest in the entrepreneurship program. The recipient must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need, but may not be eligible to receive federal or state aid. Preference will be given to underrepresented students.

Julienne Turner and Patrick Wargo International Study Abroad Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to outstanding undergraduate business student(s) who entered IU within two years of graduating high school with a minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0. Recipient(s) must participate in an IU-approved credit-bearing, overseas study program. Students applying for this scholarship are to provide a brief personal statement highlighting why they desire this scholarship and how it will impact them, as well as an outline of leadership/engagement activities. James F. and Sharon K. Van De Veire Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate business student with at least sophomore standing and a minimum GPA of 3.0. The student must be enrolled in the School of Business and Economics or pursuing a bachelor of science degree in Public Affairs, Criminal Justice, or Health Services Management. The student must be employed: if employed at least 35 hours per week, the student must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester, if employed 20-34 hours per week, the student must be enrolled for a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester.

A. Harold and Lucile Weber Bridge Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate business majors who have completed 30 credit hours. Recipient(s) must demonstrate unmet financial need.

George A. Wing Memorial Scholarship in Economics and Finance: This scholarship honors the memory of Professor George A. Wing, who taught economics and finance at Indiana University South Bend. Two scholarships are awarded annually. All students currently majoring in economics or finance, who have completed 12 or more credit hours in economics or finance at Indiana University South Bend, and plan to take at least six credit hours at Indiana University South Bend in the following fall semester are eligible to apply.
